Hi Guys,
Just thought I’d drop a personal quick line to say thanks for a great weekend.
It was my very first MTB event and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was out there on my own as my wife and kids reckoned it’d be too cold, and my other riding buddies seemed to have every excuse not to get involved, so I almost didn’t go either but I’m glad I did.
My aim was to get out there, ride some new tracks, meet some new people, and just enjoy being out on my beloved pushie. I got that and more. A beautiful spot in it’s own right, great tracks, great people, and an event clearly organised to encourage people to get out and give it a go. While it had a great laid-back feel about it, the amount of organisation required, and how well it was done didn’t go unnoticed.
I think it was your kids out on the track on Sunday cheering riders on. My legs were cramping up, and I probably would have stopped had they not been there I felt I would have disappointed them if I stopped for a break “Go 67!”, “You’re doing well 67!” You can’t help but get a lift from such sweet encouragement.
Any way, thank you, it was a great intro to MTB events, and seeing tailwind involved in future events will ensure I put a cross on my calendar.
Cheers
Dan
