2012 Super Series
The MTB Enduro Super Series returns in 2012 commencing with Race One on Sunday 4 March and followed by races two and three in April and May. The MTB Enduro Super Series will culminate with the 24 hour Super Enduro on the weekend of 16-17 June.

We have made three major changes for the series with a standardised four hour format for races one, two and three, a venue closer to Brisbane and all events will be MTBA affiliated providing its members with that association’s benefits.

Non-member competition day memberships will be available however limited to public liability and capital benefits, ie there is no personal accident cover for day members.

The Murrenbong Scout Campsite offers several variations on the existing track network. The site also features camping facilities with amenities and kitchen.

A race capacity for the first three races will be set at 250 riders across all categories.

The venue location reduce travel time and expenses along with providing a competition that allows both solo and team riders to benchmark their performance over the course of the series.

The series point system remains the same and will apply to the three four hour races.

$77 individual entry fees include a site access fee contribution to Scouts Australia.

Training Tips

Before you jump on your bike and hit the trail, ask yourself these questions.

  1. Have I spent enough time physically preparing?
  2. Do I have the correct equipment?
  3. Have I fuelled my body adequately?

Be realistic about your capabilities and always make sure you have completed the distance in training some time before the day of the event. Proper training and preparation are essential before tackling an event.

The most important thing to remember is to build up slowly. Your body will not like being thrown in to a six hour mountain bike ride if you have never gone more than 20km before.

If your normal distances are nowhere near what can be covered in an endurance race, the best thing that you can do is to extend your distances little by little to get up as close as you can to race distances.

Only work on the extended distance 1-2 times weekly and allow rest before and after each one. A day where you ride easy for a long time works on your endurance, and will certainly be considered a hard day, as will the shorter more intense ones. Read more...

Under the MTB Enduro Super Series points system, the winner receives 100 points. The runner-up receives 90 points and the next four finishers are separated by five points each. Then, the 7th through 10th place finishers are separated by 4 points, 11th though 15th are separated by 3 points and everyone is awarded 10 points thereafter.

Riders and teams also receive 5 bonus points if win the race by one lap in front of the next finisher. Also, the riders and teams that lead the most laps of a race receives another 5 points and the fastest lap earns another 5 points.
